New Family Member

The Smith household has a new member, a boxer puppy! You might think we are crazy getting a puppy with a baby. Maybe we are, but she is so cute!! Lexie has named her Sassy after the cat on The Incredible Journey. If she was a boy it was going to be Scooby Doo. Lexie is a movie buff. As it is looking right now she might just be the next big movie critic or a race car driver like she says. I am serious, she has a movie problem. She already has every movie out and is working on filling up our Tivo!

Ok back to Sassy, she has fit in great. She leaves us lots of presents and chews on JD's toys. I even caught her sucking one of his pasifiers! There is no better life than growing up with a dog!

"She said what!?"

Isn't this the cutest picture. This is JD and his new friend Kennedy. My good friend Katie and her husband Greg came to visit the other weekend and this is their daughter. The had a blast with each other talking and sharing toys. Also that weekend JD started sitting up. He is now mastering the art of sitting and grabbing for toys! I can tell it won't be long until he is on the move. It is funny how with the first one you look forward to that day and can't wait but the next one comes along and you dread it!! It means two going strong usually on opposite directions.

Lexie has discovered something very fun at her Mimi's. It is called Jump Zone.http://www.jumpzoneparty.com/index.php It was so much fun even for me!

Memorial Weekend

We had a great weekend. We went to the cabin. Lexie rode the bullet with Little Mama and JD and Papa D drove the boat. It was just a fun relaxing time.

Swimming

This is Lexie's favorite thing. Swimming! She is a regular fish. She would swim all day everyday if she could. We forgot her bathing suit so she is swimming in her My Little Pony underwear. JD loves to watch and can't wait to do it himself. Now if we could get Jacob to swim with us!

God Lives in the Sky with the Care Bears

This is what Lexie told me last night as I was reading to her before bed. Children's imaginations amaze me they are so creative and limitless. Lexie has a wild one too. Yesterday her friend Parker came over to fish in our pond. The fishing didn't last very long but they had a great time playing. Parker had his hair cut which is a very big deal because he has always had it long with beautiful curls. But atlas, he looks like a boy now ready for summer and ready for a romp in the dirt.

JD had his first experience with food this week! We started him on rice cereal. I knew it was time when we went to Burger King and he snagged one of my french fries with his little hands and was heading to his mouth with it. JD loves the food and tries to help me. I guess I am not getting it there fast enough. He is almost sitting up on his own. He sits for several seconds then falls over. He is such a happy little thing and smiles and laugh all the time.

Lexie's Bedroom aka The Dark & Spooky Room

This is Lexie's bedroom it is painted bright yellow with a large tree painted in the corner, birds, a rabbit, lots of pink and lime green. To her it is a "dark and bookty" place which she will not sleep. I have tried everything short of locking her in there to get her to sleep in her own room. We have even bribed her by telling her she will go to Chuckey Cheese if she sleeps in there all by herself. Well we got one night out of her so we rewarded her big time Chucky Cheese, praises, but the next night she said "never again never again" What to do I don't know.

Last night she slept in there for a couple of hours before she realized where she was. When she did it was on with lots of crying. She got in bed with us and then screamed in her sleep and hid under the covers. She even had me hiding under them scared to peek out for fear of seeing the boogey man. So I guess for now it is four in the bed in our room looking like a row of enchiladas in a pan. Just sprinkle us with cheese and put us in the oven!

The Turkey Dogs

I don't know where the nickname came from or who started it but these are our turkey dogs. The big one Lexie and the little one JD. Lexie likes to dress up in my clothes and if you look closely you can see in the background there is spiderman with, yes, my clothes on too.
JD just loves anything his big sister does and wants to be in the middle of it. This I am sure will cause lots of fights in the future since I am a younger sibling who was facinated with my big sister's every doing
